About Us

About Our Shelter

Sherman Ridge Sanctuary began like so many accidental adventures – take a single rescued baby chick, apply “chicken math”, and before you know it, you have a full-fledged rescue operation on your hands!

Nestled just below gorgeous High Point State Park, our sanctuary is located on 3+ wooded acres and is home to over 150 rescued poultry birds (both roosters and hens, and made up of both common and rare breeds), rabbits and other domestic birds.  Most of these birds and rabbits were brought to us either abandoned or neglected, often injured and in need or emergent medical care.

We’ve built out the property with barns and other structures to ensure that we have sufficient housing to meet our current rescue needs, though the more we grow, the more we’re needed in the community as more and more animals arrive at our doorstep!

What We Do

Rescuing Animals

We take in an assortment of animals focusing on rabbits and chickens/roosters. All of our animals are well cared for and loved.

Finding A Home

As much as we’d love to keep them all, we need to make room for new arrivals so your home is the very best place theses animals could imagine.
